blackboard – UNF Canvas Knowledge Base https://canvaskb.cirtunf.org UNF Canvas Knowledge Base Wed, 31 May 2017 00:23:38 +0000 en hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.1.1 5/31/2017 – Blackboard Retirement https://canvaskb.cirtunf.org/announcement/5312017-blackboard-retirement/ Wed, 31 May 2017 00:23:38 +0000 https://canvaskb.cirtunf.org/?p=749 At 11:59PM Wednesday, May 31st Blackboard will be retired, and all courses that were in it will be gone.  CIRT has been working with faculty on migrating courses from Blackboard to Canvas since last summer, but after the shutdown CIRT will no longer be able to migrate any courses.  The links below provide instructions on how to download any last minute courses or grade center data up until 11:59PM deadline.

It is important to be aware that some downloads may take longer than an hour, so it is advised to complete any necessary course exports before 9:00PM 5/31/2017.

Options to preserve course content (without the associated student records)

  • Export the course. The export file can then be later imported into Canvas. Directions here.
  • Download your tests and test pools. Directions here.
  • Download or export your Sharestream video files. Directions here.

Options to preserve records of student activity in a course

  • Download your Grade Center. Directions here.**
  • Save Discussion Board Postings. Directions here.**
  • Download Assignment Submissions. Directions here.**

** Records for users with inactive accounts are not included.

This emergency maintenance is necessary to replace the power supply on a network switch that connects its storage cluster.  We will post an update when the work is complete.

As of 3:54PM 12/16 Student enrollments are slow to update in Blackboard.  ITS is working on the issue and we will continue providing updates as we receive them.

]]> 12/13/2016 – Upcoming Blackboard Maintenance https://canvaskb.cirtunf.org/announcement/12132016-upcoming-blackboard-maintenance/ Wed, 21 Dec 2016 18:57:07 +0000 https://canvaskb.cirtunf.org/?p=388 Blackboard will be unavailable from December 14 at 12:00 a.m. until December 16 at 11:59 p.m. to perform scheduled system maintenance. During this maintenance window, the Fall 2014 courses will be removed from the system and the Fall 2016 courses will be set to unavailable for students.

SafeAssign and ShareStream will be updated, but the updates do not include any new features.
